Most Effective Ab Excercises
June 8, 2009 by admin
The most effective ab excercises are the ones that really focus on the individual areas of the abdominals. By training each area separately it leads to greater conditioning and a more toned look. This simply won’t be achieved by just doing sit ups everyday and hoping for the best. A variety of different exercises are required.
So let’s look at some of these ab exercises in more detail:
The Bicycle Ab Exercise
This is one of the effective of all ab exercises. It is great at working the whole ab area as well as the obliques. It is also an easy exercise to perform as no equipment is needed and you can comfortably do it from your own living room.
First you need to lie flat on your back with your hands behind your head. Then lift up your knees towards your chest. Then extend your right leg and twist your body so that your right elbow meets with your left knee. Then repeat for the other leg. Don’t worry if you cannot meet your knee, just get as close as you can.
It shouldn’t take long before you can actually feel it working.
Ab Ball Crunch
Another piece of equipment which can help you massively in your quest for abs is the ab ball. You can buy them relatively cheaply nowadays from many stockists, so you have no excuse not to have one! The reason they are great is they help you build a strong “core”. Once you have this it makes other exercises a lot easier to perform.
The ab ball crunch is performed very easily. Just lie on the ball with your face up. It should be positioned around your lower back. Then perform a normal sit up with your hands behind your head. Trying to remain stable is what helps to strengthen your core. So it’s a great exercise for the abs.
These are 2 of the most effective ab exercises you can do. So be sure to add them to your own routine and you will have a nice set of abs faster than you could even dream of!
