Lower Abdominal Exercises

As you’ll know if you visit the gym regularly, it is very common to see guys with large arms and chests as that is the common muscle groups most bodybuilders target. They do the same exercises and eat plenty of carbs and their muscles really begin to grow. But how many people do you see with a really ripped six pack? I bet it’s not half as many.
The reason is because having six pack abs that you can actually see requires a huge amount of dedication. You need to be able to build up muscle mass, whilst also removing the fat around your stomach. You’ll need to be using a combination of lower abdominal exercise and upper abdominal exercises to get the right balance on your abs.
There are many exercises you can do to help tone and build up your abs. A common one is the Bicycle crunch or leg twist as it is commonly known. Lie flat on your back with your hands behind your head. Straighten one leg out and bring the other knee up towards your upper body. Meet it with your opposing elbow. Then repeat this 15-20 times. You are basically twisting your body and it really concentrates on your ab area to help strengthen your abdominal area.
Some other common lower abdominal exercises are the Captain’s Chair, Leg Lifts, Jack Knives and the basic crunch. By using all these exercises you can begin to build up your ab muscles the right way. If will save you lots of time, especially if you are currently just doing one or two different exercises.
