Detox To Lose Stomach Fat

September 3, 2009 by admin

Almost everyone out there has heard of the word detox, short for detoxification. Detox is basically our body’s way or method to flush away or eliminate unwanted substances and toxins from the system. As we consume excessive unhealthy food and beverages during the course of our lifetime, our system is burdened by more toxins than the body can actually eliminate. This translates to the excess toxins being stuck within our body, and subsequently you face weight issues due to this. Thus it is imperative for the body to be given an overhaul to cleanse the system, and this is where the detox diet comes in.

When you start with the diet, firstly we must agree upon kicking out all the fast food, junk food, carbonated drinks as well as sugary beverages from your current diet. What more, red meat should also be avoided at all costs, as they contain high levels of unwanted fat which are difficult to eliminate once accumulated. In terms of beverages, it is advisable to abstain completely from consuming alcohol during the period of the diet. The fundamental idea of the detox diet is to cut the carbohydrates out of your daily meals and replaces them with food that are rich in fibres, vitamins, antioxidants and other nutrients that are required by the body.

During the course of the diet, you must ensure that the body is constantly rehydrated with plenty of water and juices. Juices such as tomato, watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumber and papaya are highly desirable here. Fruits and vegetables will prove to be the main source of nutrition during the span of the diet. Consumption of vegetables that contain high amounts of antioxidants such as broccoli, cauliflower, green vegetables are strongly encouraged, as well as acidic fruits such as kiwi, pineapple, oranges and grapefruit. When consuming vegetables, it’s preferable to be eaten raw or steamed, however if you insist on cooking it, do not overcook. Avoid all traces of oil while cooking or frying these vegetables, but if you insist on using oil, olive oil would be what you should be using.

Beans such as soybeans and pinto beans are also excellent choices of detox food as they provide protein as well as fibre for the body’s digestive system. Replace the consumption of white bread or rice with brown grains or bread if there is a need for carbohydrate intake. Through the detox diet, you will discover that the body will be completely refreshed, and with this you will experience improved body systems as well as an improvement in energy levels in your body. This is in addition to the weight loss that you would experience once your body starts to function on a higher efficiency. On a precautionary note, before starting the detox plan, do consult your medical doctor first to ensure that your body is able to cope with a change of food intake during the course of the diet.
