Best Abs Exercises

June 7, 2009 by admin

If you ask most people what the best abs exercises are, they would probably say sit-ups or crunches. Whilst they are good exercises in their own right, they won’t give you six pack abs on their own. There are actually quite a few different abs exercises that should be incorporated into your routine to make sure you are working all the crucial areas.

These areas are the upper and lower abs and both need to be worked to get the definition of six pack abs.

Here is a list of some of the best abs exercises for the upper abs:

Captain’s Chair
Torso Track
Reverse Crunch
Bicycle Manoeuvre
Ab Roller
Long Arm Crunch
Vertical Leg Crunch

And here are some you can use for your lower abs:

Plank
Exercise Ball
Heel Push Crunch
Vertical Leg Crunch
Captain’s Chair
Torso Track

When you are doing your abs workout, you should try and do a variety of these exercises. This helps to get an overall balanced look and feel to your abs. The two most popular exercises are the Captain’s Chair and the Bicycle Manoeuvre. These give the abs more toned and sleek look.

The Captain’s Chair is quite an easy exercise to do. By using a chair or dip machine, you sit on it and keep your back straight. Then lift your legs up so that your knees come up to your waist level. Then lower them down again. This abs exercise should be one you do at least twice a week.

So the best abs exercises are really varied. Just be sure to include a variety of them in your own workouts and you should see a difference in tone and definition in a short space of time.
