Abs Exercises

You can dream about having six pack abs all you want but you will never get them until you start taking some action. The first thing you will have to do is start doing some abs exercises, as these will start building your muscles and also burning off some of the fat around your belly area.

There are quite a few abs exercises you can start doing immediately. Almost all can be done without any exercise equipment and can be done in your own home. So you have no excuses to not be doing them!

If you’re a beginner to training your abs, then you should start off with the simple sit up to begin with. Just lie flat on your back and put your hands behind your head. The lift your upper body up off the ground by using your ab muscles only. Breathe in as you lift yourself up. Once your back clears the ground, breathe out and lower yourself down. You don’t have to lift yourself so that you are sitting up, just lift yourself up so your back is off the ground. Try to do about 20 reps before having a rest. Then repeat it 2-3 times.

Once you master the basic sit up, it’s time to move onto something more effective – the V up. This exercise helps to really crunch your abs and they will become toned quicker than normal sit ups. To begin with, lie on your back and put your hands stretched out above your head. Your legs should also be straight. Then pull up your legs and try to reach your feet with your hands. Don’t bend your legs, the purpose is to keep everything straight. If you cannot touch your feet, don’t worry, just get as close as you can.

Try and do these simple abs exercises on a daily basis and you should soon start to see the difference when you look in the mirror.
